If you’re not doing a steady diet of practicing your technique for a good part of your practice time, you need to start now.
You need to add as much variety as you can in your technical practice, such as: Taffanel one, Taffanel two, four, and five. I like to combine 10 and 11 together. But I also like to do some Marcel Moyse exercises. And I like to do Reichert.
This gives me good variety. However, I like to do the same exercises over a couple months period of time before I change it up.
The point of practicing technique is that it’s a steady diet and it’s a lot. I do heavy duty technique practice.
It’s amazing how limber my fingers feel when I’ve been doing that for a while.
Plus, I can sight read better, because I’ve done that kind of practice. It gets your eyes ready to read. It gets your muscles ready to go.
So, add a lot of heavy duty technique practice to your practice time.
You’ll be glad you did.
Try this for a while then let me know about your results.
Have Fun!
